  • Founded Toyama Manufacturing Company
  • Making best use of the design and techniques of our molding, production of AULOS recorders started (using urea resin)
1960 March
  • Established a factory in Kitamoto City in Saitama Prefecture
  • Made advances in production, precision and mass production started
1961 November
  • Changed company name to Toyama Musical Instrument Co., Ltd.
1966 October
  • World’s first production of ABS resin recorders started
1968 October
  • Production of Fife made from ABS resin started
1978 October
  • Osaka office opened
1981 January
  • Exhibited NAMM SHOW (Chicago) of American Musical Instrument Fair
1982 February
  • Exhibited the world’s largest Musical Instrument Fair, Musikmesse (Frankfurt) for the first time (since then every year)
1983 September
  • Started production of world’s first Bass recorder made from resin
1985 November
  • Started production of world’s first Flauto Traverso made from resin
1989 August
  • Completed Symphony series line-up (from Garklein to Bass)
1994 June
  • Nobuo Toyama, our founder received an award for distinguished service from American Recorder Society
2000 November
  • Started production of Shinobue from ABS resin
